What may be taken from this shrine, and what is only held in trust.
In one sentence: everything here is given freely — read it, share it, print it, use it in your own practice. What is asked is that it not be sold, and that the recitation stay where it is.
It belongs to no one
The Śrī Lalitā Sahasranāma has been carried for centuries by recitation, by copying, and by gurus giving it to their disciples. Nothing on this site adds any claim over it, and nothing here could.
Quoted, and traceable
Bhāskararāya's Saubhāgya-Bhāskara, in the English of its revised edition, is long out of copyright. It is quoted here in its own words, with the printed pages noted beside each passage, so anything said in this shrine can be followed back to the page it came from.
Given for practice
The English contemplations, the arrangement of the thousand, the gathered threads, and the app itself are freely given for personal and devotional use. Read them, share them, quote them, teach from them, print whatever is useful.
Two requests. Please do not sell them. And please keep the citations attached — they are what makes any of this worth trusting, and a passage without its page is just an assertion.
Take them, freely
There is a painting for each of the thousand names, and they were not made by a human hand. Each was made with a machine, guided by that name's own meaning — which is why they are unsigned, and why they carry no painter's name: none would be true.
Because of how they were made, they may carry no copyright at all in many countries. Rather than claim a right that could not be defended, here is the request instead: take them, share them, set one on your screen, print one for your own shrine. Please do not sell them, and please do not offer them as the work of any painter, living or past.
A gift, held in trust
The full chanting of the thousand names was given to this shrine by Ācārya Rakesh Bharadwaj. It is a gift, and it is not ours to give away in turn.
His voice is also what you hear when you tap a single name. Where his recitation separates one name from the next, that name's pronunciation is cut from this same chanting; where he carries several names together in one breath — as anyone chanting a metrical hymn does — the name keeps a spoken guide made for it instead. So the voice on a name page is his more often than not, and it is the same gift.
Listen to it here as often as you wish. Please do not republish it elsewhere, and please do not use it in anything that is sold.
Share the door, not the room
In the spoken pieces the voices are readers, not gurus, and every claim in them traces to the same edition. Share them as freely as anything else here — a link is the kindest way, since it keeps the sources beside the words.
Reserved, and only this
Everything else on this site may be copied. The name Śrīpura and its emblem may not, and the reason is plain: if someone meets this name, what should follow is this — faithful to the source, free, without advertising, and asking nothing.
So please do not use the name or the emblem for another app, site, product, or channel. It is not held back to protect a business. It is held back so the name keeps meaning what it means.
